Privacy Policy

Brookvale Motor Group Pty Ltd (BMG) respects the rights of consumers and individuals from having their personal information and sensitive information used contrary to their wishes or knowledge.
BMG has implemented a Private Policy to comply with the requirements of The Privacy Act 1988 which has been amended to Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000 and the associated National Privacy Principles (NPPs) which became effective 21st December 2001.

Ten National Privacy Principles (NPPs)

1. Collection
We collect and store information from our customers on database that is necessary to provide customers with the product and or service they require and in order to maintain and improve our high standards of service.

2. Use and Disclosure
The primary purpose for the collection of this information is to facilitate sale, financing, repair, service of vehicles and sale of parts. This information may also be used to keep customers informed of latest developments in the products/services we offer and/or so that and warranties that apply to our products and /or services can be properly administered.
The customer information may be shared with Mazda Australia and Daimler Chrysler in order to validate warranties on any products or services purchased from us. We may also share information with Exact Management who administer extended new and used warranties. We may also share information with our financial association affiliates and government authorities when it is necessary to do so.

3. Data Quality
BMG will take all reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information it collects, uses or discloses is accurate, complete and up to date.

4. Data Security
BMG takes all reasonable steps to protect the personal information its holds from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

5. Openness
BMG has a policy of openness disclosure with its information handling practices. On written request from an individual BMG will provide information on what information is held on the said individual, how it is collected and for what purpose it is held.

6. Access and Correction
BMG will provide access to individuals to personal information it holds about that individual on written request, for nominal fee of $25.00. BMG will take reasonable steps to correct information that is not accurate, up to date or complete.

7. Identifiers
BMG will not adopt, use or disclose an identifier (e.g. a tax file number, Medicare number etc) that has been assigned by a Commonwealth government agency to identify persons about whom information is collected.

8. Anonymity
BMG respects the rights of individuals to transact without identifying themselves where it lawful and practical.

9. Transborder Data Flows
BMG will only transfer personal information to a recipient overseas where the information will have appropriate protection i.e. privacy laws are similar or than that of Australia or if the individual has consented.

10. Sensitive Information
BMG will not collect sensitive information unless the individual has consented or collection is required by law.
